Belgrade – On Tuesday, 28 October 2025, at the Yugoslav Film Archive in Belgrade, the Crystal Koala Award, presented by the 22nd Serbian Film Festival in Australia, was awarded to the film Russian Consul, directed by Miroslav Lekić.
The film Russian Consul was chosen by audience vote as the winner of the 22nd Serbian Film Festival in Australia, which took place from 16 to 30 March this year across six major Australian cities – Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
The award and a cash prize of €1,000 were presented to the filmmaker Miroslav Lekić by the Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Australia to the Republic of Serbia, His Excellency Peter Truswell. The Crystal Koala Audience Award, established in 2010, is presented annually to the director of the most popular film from the festival’s selection.
