EXPO Flag Arrives in Serbia

Belgrade - On Friday, December 6, 2024, a ceremony was held at the Sava Center in Belgrade, where the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Miloš Vučević, received the flag of the international EXPO 2027 exhibition. The flag was handed over to Prime Minister Vučević by the director of the EXPO 2027 organisation, Dušan Borovčanin.

In his address, Prime Minister Vučević emphasised that the arrival of the EXPO flag in Serbia was a significant moment for the country, highlighting that it is a symbol of victory and joint success, and that Serbia will be the first host of a specialised exhibition in the Western Balkans.

The EXPO flag was officially handed over to Serbia in Paris, in connection with the organisation of the EXPO 2027 exhibition. Serbia was chosen to host EXPO 2027 in June 2023, after being selected from five candidates, including the United States, Thailand, Spain, and Argentina. The theme of the EXPO 2027 in Belgrade will be “Play for Humanity,” and the event will take place from May 15 to August 15, 2027.
