Belgrade — Serbia won 5 medals at the Olympic Games in Paris: three gold, one silver, and one bronze, placing 27th on the list of the most successful nations. Gold medals for Serbia were earned by shooters Zorana Arunović and Damir Mikec in pairs, tennis player Novak Đoković, and the water polo team. Aleksandra Perišić won a bronze medal in taekwondo, while the basketball team also won a bronze medal.
The welcome for Serbian Olympic medalists was held on the balcony of the Belgrade City Assembly, where, by tradition, our athletes who bring medals from major competitions are celebrated. They were greeted by several tens of thousands of citizens who gathered in front of the Old Palace. Before this, a ceremonial welcome for our Olympians was held at the Presidency of Serbia, organized by the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.
The XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris 2024 were ceremoniously closed at the Stade de France in Paris. At the closing ceremony, the flag of Serbia was carried by Zorana Arunović and Damir Mikec, while at the opening ceremony, the flag was carried by volleyball player Maja Ognjenović and water polo player Dušan Mandić. The next Olympic Games will be held in Los Angeles in 2028.
